International Mother Language Day Observed

Altaf Hossain, Chattogram, 22 February 2019: Honouring the heroic struggles and sacrifices of our martyrs for our mother tongue Bangla, International Mother Language Day was observed with due solemnity in our college campus yesterday. The day is also observed across the world to commemorate the importance of mother tongue and its cultural and linguistic importance. In our college, the day began with hoisting the national flag. In keeping with the age old tradition the students of the college placed floral wreathes on the Shaheed Minar. Different sports and cultural programmes were organised by the students' union. Prof. Anjon Kumar Nandi, Principal, Haji Md. Mohshin College gave away prizes to the winners. His presidential address was replete with historical reinterpretations that made the whole house spell bound. The programme ended with his speech.

আলতাফ হোসেন, চট্টগ্রাম, 22 ফেব্রুয়ারি 2019: আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলার জন্য আমাদের শহীদদের বীরত্বপূর্ণ সংগ্রাম ও আত্মত্যাগের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়ে গতকাল আমাদের কলেজ ক্যাম্পাসে যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস পালিত হয়েছে। মাতৃভাষার গুরুত্ব এবং এর সাংস্কৃতিক ও ভাষাগত গুরুত্ব স্মরণে সারা বিশ্বে দিবসটি পালন করা হয়। আমাদের কলেজে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলনের মধ্য দিয়ে দিনটি শুরু হয়। পুরনো ঐতিহ্য ধরে রেখে কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা শহীদ মিনারে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন। ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন খেলাধুলা ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। বিজয়ীদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেন হাজী মোঃ মহসিন কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর অঞ্জন কুমার নন্দী। তাঁর রাষ্ট্রপতির ভাষণটি ঐতিহাসিক পুনর্ব্যাখ্যায় পরিপূর্ণ ছিল যা পুরো ঘরকে মন্ত্রমুগ্ধ করে তুলেছিল। তার বক্তব্যের মধ্য দিয়ে অনুষ্ঠান শেষ হয়।
