Dear Rajib, 

I have just received your letter. In your letter you have wanted to you about the fair that has ended recently in our village. You know every year on the occasion on of Nabanna Festival a fair is held in our village. This year the festival was held as usual under the age old banyan tree situated in our village. I felt tempted to visit the fair. I went to the fair with some of my friends at 4 in the afternoon. The whole place was full of joy and busy activities. There were shops of different types. There were wooden toys, clay dolls, baloons and food items etc. in the shops. There were also seesaws, merry-go-round, rope dancing there. There was also a big circus party with tigers, elephants, monkeys, horses and bears to show funny feats. I found thousands of people there. It became a meeting place of all types of people. I bought candy, dolls, flowers vase etc. from the fair. It was almost a hectic day for me. I returned home in the evening tired but happy.

প্রিয় রাজিব,

আমি এইমাত্র আপনার চিঠি পেয়েছি. আপনার চিঠিতে আপনি আমাদের গ্রামে সম্প্রতি শেষ হওয়া মেলার কথা চেয়েছিলেন। আপনারা জানেন প্রতি বছর নবান্ন উৎসব উপলক্ষে আমাদের গ্রামে মেলা বসে। প্রতিবারের মতো এবারও আমাদের গ্রামের বয়স্ক বটগাছের নিচে উৎসব অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। মেলা দেখার লোভ অনুভব করলাম। বিকেল চারটায় বন্ধুদের সাথে মেলায় গেলাম। পুরো জায়গাটা ছিল আনন্দ আর ব্যস্ততায় পরিপূর্ণ। সেখানে নানা ধরনের দোকান ছিল। দোকানে ছিল কাঠের খেলনা, মাটির পুতুল, বেলুন ও খাবার সামগ্রী ইত্যাদি। সেখানেও ছিল সীসা, মেরি-গো-রাউন্ড, দড়ি নাচ। মজার কীর্তি দেখানোর জন্য বাঘ, হাতি, বানর, ঘোড়া এবং ভালুক নিয়ে একটি বড় সার্কাস পার্টিও ছিল। আমি সেখানে হাজার হাজার মানুষ খুঁজে পেয়েছি. সব ধরনের মানুষের মিলনমেলায় পরিণত হয়েছিল। মেলা থেকে মিষ্টি, পুতুল, ফুলদানি ইত্যাদি কিনলাম। এটা আমার জন্য প্রায় একটি ব্যস্ত দিন ছিল. সন্ধ্যায় ক্লান্ত কিন্তু খুশি হয়ে বাড়ি ফিরলাম।
