A Journey By Launch Paragraph

Once I was coming to Dhaka from Khulna by launch. It takes two days to reach Dhaka by aunch. The weather was fine and the sky was clear. There was no cloud. The river was calm. The launch was moving smoothly. 

We all the passengers were in a jolly mood. The journey was pleasant. We were enjoying the beautiful natural scenery on the either side of the river. The rays of the setting sun fell on the river and the water looked like pearls. 

There were small waves on the river. Every wave that dashed against our launch increased our thrill and joy. Suddenly after the sun set the weather turned foul. There were deep dark clouds in the sky. All on a sudden a storm rose. We all the passengers were terribly upset. The launch was not very big. Again there was no life boat in the launch. 

The storm caused the river water swell. There were heavy waves which dashed against the launch. It seemed to me that the strong waves might cause rift in the launch. We all were thinking that we might meet with watery graves. So we began to take the name of the almighty Allah.

অর্থঃ একবার লঞ্চে করে খুলনা থেকে ঢাকা আসছিলাম। আঞ্চে করে ঢাকায় পৌঁছাতে দুই দিন সময় লাগে। আবহাওয়া ঠিক ছিল এবং আকাশ পরিষ্কার ছিল। মেঘ ছিল না। নদী শান্ত ছিল। লঞ্চ চলছিল নির্বিঘ্নে।

আমরা যাত্রীরা সবাই আনন্দের মেজাজে ছিলাম। যাত্রাটি আনন্দদায়ক ছিল। নদীর দুপাশের অপরূপ প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য আমরা উপভোগ করছিলাম। অস্তগামী সূর্যের রশ্মি নদীতে পড়ল এবং জল মুক্তোর মতো দেখা গেল।

নদীতে ছোট ছোট ঢেউ ছিল। আমাদের লঞ্চের বিরুদ্ধে আছড়ে পড়া প্রতিটি ঢেউ আমাদের রোমাঞ্চ ও আনন্দ বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। হঠাৎ সূর্যাস্তের পর আবহাওয়া খারাপ হয়ে গেল। আকাশে গভীর কালো মেঘ ছিল। হঠাৎ ঝড় উঠল। আমরা সব যাত্রী ভয়ানক বিরক্ত. লঞ্চটি খুব একটা বড় ছিল না। আবার লঞ্চে লাইফ বোট ছিল না।

ঝড়ের কারণে নদীর পানি বেড়েছে। প্রবল ঢেউ আছড়ে পড়ে লঞ্চে। আমার মনে হচ্ছিল প্রবল ঢেউ লঞ্চে ফাটল ধরিয়ে দিতে পারে। আমরা সবাই ভাবছিলাম যে আমরা জলাবদ্ধ কবরের সাথে দেখা করতে পারি। তাই আমরা সর্বশক্তিমান আল্লাহর নাম নিতে শুরু করলাম।
