The French word étiquette, literally signifying a tag or label, was used in a modern sense in English around 1750.  From the 1500s through the early 1900s, children learned etiquette at school. Luquette nas changed and evolved over the years. 

Today etiquette refers to discipline and harmony of activities in a particular atmosphere. In the primitive period man used to hve muce the branches of trees. At that time there was no hard and fast etiquette. 

But gradually man has developed society and made up their own code of conduct for the betterment and prosperity. Hence they have produced some forms of discipline which all living in the society must follow as mandatory. 

Otherwise, there will be indiscipline and chaos. To evade this situation we all must follow some particular etiquettes. To teach etiquette to a child a family is a great institution. For the socialization of a child learning of etiquette is a must. For the greater interest of the society and for the peace and stability in a community we all should follow particular etiquettes as mandatory.

কিন্তু ধীরে ধীরে মানুষ সমাজের উন্নয়ন করেছে এবং উন্নতি ও সমৃদ্ধির জন্য তাদের নিজস্ব আচরণবিধি তৈরি করেছে। তাই তারা এমন কিছু শৃঙ্খলা তৈরি করেছে যা সমাজে বসবাসকারী সকলকে বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে অনুসরণ করতে হবে।

অন্যথায় শৃঙ্খলাহীনতা ও বিশৃঙ্খলা সৃষ্টি হবে। এই পরিস্থিতি এড়াতে আমাদের সবাইকে কিছু বিশেষ শিষ্টাচার অনুসরণ করতে হবে। একটি পরিবার একটি শিশুকে শিষ্টাচার শেখানো একটি মহান প্রতিষ্ঠান. একটি শিশুর সামাজিকীকরণের জন্য শিষ্টাচার শেখা আবশ্যক। সমাজের বৃহত্তর স্বার্থে এবং একটি সম্প্রদায়ের শান্তি ও স্থিতিশীলতার জন্য আমাদের সকলের উচিত বিশেষ শিষ্টাচারগুলি বাধ্যতামূলক হিসাবে অনুসরণ করা।

We cannot expect to have respect and good manners from others unless we show it to them. Good manners are considered as an ornament of a man's character. It makes a man perfect.
