Gender Equality Paragraph

Gender equality means the equal treatment both to male and female. It also means the equal rights enjoyed both by the male and female. There can be no denying the fact of its importance. If a female is not ensured equal rights, her sufferings know no bounds. 

Development of the country can not be thought of if the rights of the females are not ensured. So the importance of gender equality can not be denied. To speak the very truth the condition of gender discrimination is very vulnerable. In Bangladesh gender discrimination begins at birth. A girl is born to an unwelcome world. 

It is thought that she has come to this world to add miseries to her family. She is confined within the four walls of the house. She has to do all household work. She is deprived of all rights. She lives at the mercy of other people. She is considered to be burden for her family. 

Gender equality is not maintained at all in Bangladesh. Ignorance, prejudice, religious misinterpretation, social values and outlook are the social barriers to gender equality. There are many other reasons which are responsible for gender inequality. Society, ignorant people and uneducated parents are responsible for these barriers. 

Women constitute half of our total population. So keeping half of our generation in the darkness the development of the country can not be thought of. So gender equality is related to the overall development in our country. To ensure gender equality first of all females should have the right to receive education. 

There should be no distinction between the male and the female. Allah Himself has drawn no distinction between the male and the female. The females should be guaranteed equal rights. They should not be deprived of any right. Prejudices should be uprooted. Social outlook towards female should be changed. Religious mis-interpretation should be abolished. Early marriage should be stopped. If we can do all these things. gender equality can be ensured in Bangladesh.

অর্থঃ লিঙ্গ সমতা মানে নারী ও পুরুষ উভয়ের প্রতিই সমান আচরণ। এর মানে নারী ও পুরুষ উভয়ের সমান অধিকার। এর গুরুত্বকে অস্বীকার করার উপায় নেই। নারীর সমান অধিকার নিশ্চিত না হলে তার দুর্ভোগের সীমা থাকে না।

নারীর অধিকার নিশ্চিত না হলে দেশের উন্নয়নের কথা ভাবা যাবে না। তাই লিঙ্গ সমতার গুরুত্ব অস্বীকার করা যায় না। সত্যি কথা বলতে লিঙ্গ বৈষম্যের অবস্থা খুবই নাজুক। বাংলাদেশে জন্ম থেকেই লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য শুরু হয়। একটি মেয়ে একটি অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত পৃথিবীতে জন্মগ্রহণ করে।

ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, তিনি তার পরিবারের দুঃখ-কষ্ট বাড়াতে এই পৃথিবীতে এসেছেন। ঘরের চার দেয়ালে বন্দী। তাকে ঘরের সব কাজ করতে হয়। সে সব অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত। সে অন্য মানুষের করুণায় বেঁচে থাকে। তাকে তার পরিবারের জন্য বোঝা মনে করা হয়।

বাংলাদেশে মোটেও লিঙ্গ সমতা বজায় নেই। অজ্ঞতা, কুসংস্কার, ধর্মীয় অপব্যাখ্যা, সামাজিক মূল্যবোধ এবং দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি লিঙ্গ সমতার সামাজিক বাধা। আরও অনেক কারণ রয়েছে যা লিঙ্গ বৈষম্যের জন্য দায়ী। সমাজ, অজ্ঞ মানুষ এবং অশিক্ষিত অভিভাবকরা এসব বাধার জন্য দায়ী।

আমাদের মোট জনসংখ্যার অর্ধেক নারী। তাই আমাদের প্রজন্মের অর্ধেককে অন্ধকারে রেখে দেশের উন্নয়নের কথা ভাবা যায় না। তাই লিঙ্গ সমতা আমাদের দেশের সার্বিক উন্নয়নের সাথে জড়িত। লিঙ্গ সমতা নিশ্চিত করতে সবার আগে নারীদের শিক্ষা লাভের অধিকার থাকতে হবে।

নারী-পুরুষের মধ্যে কোনো ভেদাভেদ থাকা উচিত নয়। আল্লাহ স্বয়ং নারী পুরুষের মধ্যে কোন ভেদাভেদ করেননি। নারীদের সমান অধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। তাদের কোনো অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত করা চলবে না। কুসংস্কার উপড়ে ফেলতে হবে। নারীর প্রতি সামাজিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি বদলাতে হবে। ধর্মের অপব্যাখ্যা বন্ধ করতে হবে। বাল্যবিবাহ বন্ধ করতে হবে। আমরা যদি এই সব কাজ করতে পারি। বাংলাদেশে লিঙ্গ সমতা নিশ্চিত করা যেতে পারে।
