Folk Music Vs Modern Music Paragraph

Folk music is the traditional music of the people in a country or region. It is not influenced by any sophisticated music rules or any standard music styles. Folk music includes both religious and secular songs. On the other hand, modern music is the breaking-down of all traditional form of music, thereby releasing complete freedom in all dimensions, including melody, rhythm, and chord progression. 

Again, generation of rural poets; composers have created enormous tradition of folk music. Most of the folk songs are composed based on rural people, culture and environments which differ from region to region. It has a great variety in Bangladesh. They are Bhatiyali, Bhawaiya, Baul, spritual song, Jarigan, Sarigan, Murshidi etc. 

Bangladesh has a good number of instruments of her own. They are Dotara, Dhole, Bhasi, Mandira, Khajani, Hari, Kumkum and Zara etc. Whereas, modern music contains fewer lyrical melodies than the music of former periods, dissonant harmonies, complex rhythms, greater use of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments than in music of earlier periods, the use of synthetic and electronic sounds. 

Modern Bengali Music has blended western and middle-eastern traits with traditional forms. Modern music is becoming more and more popular gradually because it gives emotion-seekers the greatest pleasure within a short time.

অর্থঃ লোকসংগীত হল একটি দেশ বা অঞ্চলের মানুষের ঐতিহ্যবাহী সঙ্গীত। এটি কোন পরিশীলিত সঙ্গীত নিয়ম বা কোন আদর্শ সঙ্গীত শৈলী দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয় না. লোকসংগীতে ধর্মীয় এবং ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ উভয় গানই অন্তর্ভুক্ত। অন্যদিকে, আধুনিক সঙ্গীত হল সঙ্গীতের সমস্ত ঐতিহ্যবাহী রূপকে ভেঙে ফেলা, যার ফলে সুর, তাল এবং জ্যার অগ্রগতি সহ সমস্ত মাত্রায় সম্পূর্ণ স্বাধীনতা মুক্তি পায়।

বাংলাদেশের নিজস্ব বেশ কিছু যন্ত্র রয়েছে। সেগুলি হল দোতারা, ঢোল, ভাসি, মন্দিরা, খাজানি, হরি, কুমকুম এবং জারা ইত্যাদি। যেখানে, আধুনিক সঙ্গীতে পূর্ববর্তী সময়ের সঙ্গীতের তুলনায় কম গীতিমূলক সুর রয়েছে, অসঙ্গতিপূর্ণ সুর, জটিল ছন্দ, কাঠবাদাম, পিতল এবং তাল বাদ্যযন্ত্রের বেশি ব্যবহার। পূর্ববর্তী সময়ের সঙ্গীতে, সিন্থেটিক এবং ইলেকট্রনিক শব্দের ব্যবহার।

Folk music refers to a kind of music originating from the ordinary people of a region or nation and spread about or passed down orally, often with considerable variation. It springs from the heart of a community. It is based on their natural style of expression. It is sung by the common people who are not actually trained musicians. That's why it is not sophisticated. Generations of rural poets and composers created enormous tradition of Bangla folk music. This music contains a strong emotive expression of human love and separation. Folk music is the combination of folk song, dance and tune that are created on the basis of culture, festivals, natural beauty, rural and riverine life. In Bangladesh, folk music has a great variety. They are Bhatiyali, Bhawaiya, Baul and spiritual songs, Murshidi, etc. Folk music became possible for the contribution of some singers of our country. They are Lalan Shah, SirajSai, Hason Raja.
