Country Games Paragraph

Country games are the games which are played in the villages. The main country games are Ha du, du, Dariabandha, Kanamachhi, Gollachhut, Danguli, Buddhimantra, six-guti, sixteen-gut, Lacni-play, boat racing etc. Ha-du-du, is a very popular game in Bangladesh. 

For this game at first a held is selected with a line in the middle dividing the field into two halves. All the players are divided into two teams. One player of a team goes across the middle line into the area of the other team all the while uttering 'ha-du-du' or 'du-du-du' without taking any breath. 

His object is to touch a player of the other team while he goes on uttering 'du-du-du' and to come back to his own area without being caught, held back or seized within the area of the other team by any of its members. The player so touched is called 'dead'. 

The player who is caught or held back within the area of the other team is also 'dead' or out. If all the players of one team are thus 'dead' and the other team has some of its players still 'living', the former party is said to be defeated and the latter party wins a point. Dariabandha is another popular game of our villages. 

In this game a field is made under certain rules equally divided with lines equi-distant from each other. Players are equally divided into two teams. One team stands outside the field and each of the players of the other team stands on each line facing at least one opponent player. Players standing outside enter into the field one by and try to pass across the field to the finishing end. 

If any player of a team crosses the field from the starting point to the finishing point and vice-versa, the team concerned wins the game. Our country games are losing their popularity because today people are fond of western culture. They like to play football, cricket, badminton etc. In order to save our country games from being lost boys and girls should be encouraged to play the country games more and more.

অর্থঃ গ্রামাঞ্চলে খেলা হয় এমন খেলাই দেশীয় খেলা। প্রধান দেশের খেলাগুলো হলো হাডু, ডু, দাড়িয়াবান্ধা, কানামাছি, গোল্লাছুট, ডাঙ্গুলী, বুদ্ধিমন্ত্র, ছয়-গুটি, ষোল-গুট, লাকনি-খেলা, নৌকা দৌড় ইত্যাদি। হা-ডু-ডু, বাংলাদেশের একটি অত্যন্ত জনপ্রিয় খেলা।

এই খেলার জন্য প্রথমে মাঝখানে একটি রেখা দিয়ে মাঠটিকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে একটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সমস্ত খেলোয়াড় দুটি দলে বিভক্ত। একটি দলের একজন খেলোয়াড় কোনো শ্বাস না নিয়ে 'হা-ডু-ডু' বা 'ডু-ডু-ডু' উচ্চারণ করার সময় মধ্যম লাইন পেরিয়ে অন্য দলের এলাকায় চলে যায়।

তার উদ্দেশ্য হল অন্য দলের একজন খেলোয়াড়কে স্পর্শ করা যখন সে 'ডু-ডু-ডু' উচ্চারণ করতে থাকে এবং অন্য দলের কোনো খেলোয়াড় দ্বারা ধরা না পড়ে, আটকে রাখা বা আটক না করে নিজের এলাকায় ফিরে আসে। সদস্যদের তাই স্পর্শ করা খেলোয়াড়কে 'মৃত' বলা হয়।

যে খেলোয়াড় অন্য দলের এলাকায় ধরা পড়ে বা আটকে রাখা হয় সেও 'মৃত' বা আউট। যদি এক দলের সমস্ত খেলোয়াড় এভাবে 'মৃত' হয়ে থাকে এবং অন্য দলের কিছু খেলোয়াড় এখনও 'জীবিত' থাকে, তাহলে বলা হয় প্রাক্তন দল পরাজিত হয়েছে এবং পরবর্তী দলটি একটি পয়েন্ট জিতেছে। দাড়িয়াবান্ধা আমাদের গ্রামের আরেকটি জনপ্রিয় খেলা।

এই খেলায় নির্দিষ্ট নিয়মের অধীনে একটি ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করা হয় যা একে অপরের থেকে সমান-দূরবর্তী রেখা দিয়ে সমানভাবে ভাগ করা হয়। খেলোয়াড়রা সমানভাবে দুটি দলে বিভক্ত। একটি দল মাঠের বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে এবং অন্য দলের খেলোয়াড়রা প্রতিটি লাইনে কমপক্ষে একজন প্রতিপক্ষ খেলোয়াড়ের মুখোমুখি হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে। বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা খেলোয়াড়রা একে একে মাঠে প্রবেশ করে এবং মাঠ পেরিয়ে শেষের দিকে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করে।

কোনো দলের কোনো খেলোয়াড় যদি শুরুর পয়েন্ট থেকে ফিনিশিং পয়েন্ট পর্যন্ত মাঠ অতিক্রম করে এবং উল্টোটা করে, তাহলে সংশ্লিষ্ট দল খেলায় জয়ী হয়। আমাদের দেশের খেলাগুলি তাদের জনপ্রিয়তা হারাচ্ছে কারণ আজ মানুষ পশ্চিমা সংস্কৃতির প্রতি অনুরাগী। তারা ফুটবল, ক্রিকেট, ব্যাডমিন্টন ইত্যাদি খেলতে পছন্দ করে। আমাদের দেশের খেলাগুলোকে হারিয়ে যাওয়ার হাত থেকে বাঁচাতে ছেলে-মেয়েদের বেশি বেশি করে দেশীয় গেম খেলতে উৎসাহিত করতে হবে।
