A good citizen abides by all these laws and tries to ensure peace and happiness in the society. A good citizen must be a good man. He should develop moral and mental disposition. He should be committed to his own duties and responsibilities. Good and friendly contact with good people characterises him. Truthfulness, smartness, honesty and reliability are the distinctive ornaments of his personality. He must not do anything subversive of the state. A Good Citizen Paragraph
A good citizen is one who properly fulfills his role as a citizen following the rules of his land or society. The role of a good citizen is to contribute positively to society by living good life with consciousness and knowledge. The behaviour of a good citizen must be good and he should work for the welfare of the nation. To be a good citizen, I have to prepare myself to do good work in society. First, I need knowledge. Today's society is knowledge-based. Without knowing modern sciences, technologies including ICT and other necessary subjects, I will have to face difficulty living a good life. As a good citizen, I should have knowledges about our country, its constitution, geography and people, our state, its executive and legislative powers; our judicial system; our -government and its structures and functions; our history, cultures, traditions, literature, moral values and religions; our socio-economic activities and educational' system. Secondly, I need skills to do things, Acquiring knowledge is not enough. I must be able to apply my knowledge to do things practically. Finally, knowing and doing things will bring about a change in my behaviour towards others. This behavioural change will show my attitudes towards others, that is, it will show how I think and feel about a person or thing. A good citizen is very important to make a peaceful society.
