TWO CATS AND A CLEVER MONKEY

One day two cats stole a piece of cake from the kitchen of a householder. They had a quarrel over their shares and consequently did not come to a decision how they would divide the cake among themselves. They used a lot of words. But all went in vain. Then they were about to fight with each other. At that time a monkey appeared there. He heard the whole thing and told the cats to give the cake to him. He assured them that lie would divide it equally among them. The monkey broke the cake in to two pieces. But one piece grew a bit larger than the other. He bit off a portion from the large piece and it now became a bit smaller than the other piece. He bit off a portion from the second piece in order to make the two pieces equal. But the second piece grew smaller again that time. Thus the monkey ate the whole cake. The cats could understand their foolishness and were very sorry.

Moral: Quarrel create the advantage for a third party.

Two cats and a monkey

Two cats steal a cake-they quarrel over their share-they ask a monkey for two equal divisions of the cake--cats are deceived.

Two cats lived in a house. Once the stole a piece of cake. They could not decide to divide the cake between themselves. So they began to quarrel over the share. At last they came to a monkey and asked him to make two equal divisions of the cake. The clever monkey took the opportunity to deprive them of the thing. So he began to weigh the cake after breaking it into two parts. Each time he put the unequal portions on the scale and bit a part of it to make them equal. Thus he ate up the entire cake. Thus the two cats were befooled by the monkey and went away.

Moral: Quarrels create the advantage for a third person.

A CLEVER MONKEY AND TWO RATS

One day two rats stole a piece of bread. They tried to divide it into two equal parts but failed. they fought for that. Lastly, they agreed to put up their problem to the monkey. All the animals of the forest knew him as the wiser animal. They went to the monkey and asked him to divide the bread into two equal parts. The monkey behaved very gently with them. He said that it would be costly for them. It was better for them to settle it among themselves. But they didn't agree. Then the monkey brought a pair of scales and torn out the bread into two pieces. He put the pieces on the scales. The cunning! monkey divided the pieces in such a way that those were not equally divided. He cut a small piece from the heavier piece and ate. Then the other piece became heavier. Then the monkey took a portion from that heavier piece and put it on the scales. Again the dishes of the scale were unequal and the clever monkey, ate another small part of the larger portion. He continued this method and the bread piece became smaller gradually. The cats understood the monkey's craft trick and requested the monkey to stop that. They said that they would divide it equally themselves. They asked for that small piece of bread. But the clever monkey claimed the rest of the piece of bread as his charge.
