A Fisherman A fisherman is a person who earns his livelihood by fishing. He catches fish and sells them in the market. He generally lives in a village near a river or a sea. About half a million of people live by fishing in Bangladesh. The fishermen who have big nets and boats work in groups and catch fish in the sea or in big rivers. Fishermen having only small nets and not boats catch fish in the small waters. A fisherman works hard day and night to make for a livelihood. While he is at home, he is found making new nets or repairing his old nets and boats. Sometimes he has to pass his days and nights in his boat. So his life is very risky. A fisherman supplies us protein diet and helps us in earning foreign exchange but he remains poor. So government should take steps to change the lots of the fishermen.
